2017 – 2018 Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Bikini Fitness Champion and Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics student Aysu Dursun, won the 2018 International NAC World Championship; a first in the history of TRNC. Now, Dursun prepares to compete in the World Beauty Fitness & Fashion INC. (WBFF) World Championship to be held in August 2019 in the Bahama Islands.
A Visit Paid to Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam
EMU student Aysu Dursun paid a visit to EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam on January 29th 2019, Tuesday (10:00) to provide information regarding her participation in the competition. During this visit of courtesy, TRNC Weight Lifting and Body Building Federation President Ali Dahlameroğlu and World Champion Aysu Dursun’s trainer and TRNC Weight Lifting and Body Building Federation Vice-President Neval Çelebioğlu were also present.
EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam stated that they were proud of Aysun Dursun’s achievements and wished her good luck for the 2019 August WBFF World Championship.
During the visit, Dursun noted that she was very pleased with the education given at EMU, that nutrition was vital for being successful in fitness competitions; and that being a student in the Nutrition and Dietetics Department contributed greatly to her sports career. At the end of the visit, EMU student and World Championship Winning Athlete Aysu Dursun, presented EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam with her championship poster from the 2018 World Championship held in the Philippines. EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam wished Aysu Dursun and her trainer Neval Çelebioğlu success in their work and their preparations for the upcoming world championship.
