Successful Academicians of EMU Received Awards at a Ceremony

Academicians who gained the right to receive the 2020 Publication Achievement Award and the 2020 Academic Research Incentive Award, determined by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Research Advisory Board, received their awards at a ceremony. At the said event held at EMU Mustafa Afşin Ersoy Hall, certificates of appreciation were also presented to members of the academic staff who qualified for the award for citations from their scientific publications in the year 2020. Plaques of appreciation were also presented to academic staff who undertook the duty of PhD. thesis supervision during the Spring Semester of the 2020-2021 Academic Year.

EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, Member of the Board of Trustees Ersun Kutup, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Hasan Demirel, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Aktuğlu, Chair of the Research Advisory Board Prof. Dr. Ali Hakan Ulusoy, academicians and their families attended the said ceremony.

“You Contributed to Science and Humanity"

Delivering the opening address of the ceremony, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hocanın extended his congratulations to the academicians who have been awarded in different categories and emphasized that they have made a very important contribution to EMU in the field of research. Noting that EMU aims to produce science in line with its strategic plans, Prof. Dr. Hocanın said, “This is one of the three most important tasks that make universities a university. EMU is an institution that tries this in the best and pioneering way in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). I am proud of the work of our university has produced on this issue. EMU academicians will continue to produce high-quality and effective publications, receive citations, and most importantly, train scientists, as they have done so far. I extend my heartfely congratulations to all of you for your contributions to science and humanity with the publications you have brought to our university."

The awards were presented to successful academicians by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hasan Demirel and Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Aktuğlu, Chair of the Research Advisory Board and Director of the Institute for Graduate Studies and Research Prof. Dr. Ali Hakan Ulusoy and Assistant Director Prof. Dr. Kağan Günçe and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Rızaner.
