General Information

The aim of the Physiotherapy associate degree program is to cater for the growing demand for qualified, modern and inquisitive physiotherapy technicians who will deliver services at state, private or university hospitals, physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinics and special health centers.

Education

Since the Physiotherapy is a continuously developing sector with the latest technological developments, demand for qualified workforce in this area is continuously increasing. The increasing number of individuals with a disability, either gained from birth or at a later stage of life, has increased the demand for qualified professionals supporting the physiotherapists in the area of rehabilitation. The integrated curriculum gives space to innovations and modern developments and the quality of education is supported by an array of equipments and facilities available at the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Facilities

With the aim of graduating successful and modern physiotherapists, our university has established collaboration protocols with Marmara and Gazi Universities of Turkey. Our University provides sufficient number of computers with Internet connections for students. Students are also given the privilege of benefiting from the Eastern Mediterranean University Library which is equipped with modern facilities, equipment and databases. Our University also provides an array of recreational opportunities for our students in the form of social, cultural and sports activities.

Career Opportunities

Upon the successful completion of the program, graduates are awarded the title of a “Physiotherapy Technician” and may pursue employment opportunities at the rehabilitation units of the state and private hospitals, physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinics, special centers, old people’s homes, thermal water resorts or hotels operating in the field of health tourism.

FZTR151 Introduction to Anatomy
Bu ders; öğrencilerin, insan anatomisini ve fizyolojisini, vücut sistemlerini ve fonksiyonlarını öğrenmesini amaçlamaktır. Dersin kapsamında; kemikler, eklemler, kaslar, sistemler, organizmanın bölümleri (hücre-doku-organ-sistem), görevleri ve bu bölümler arasındaki iletişim incelenmektedir.

Parts of the organism (cell-tissue-organ-system), their tasks and communication between these sections are examined. In the content of course, cell physiology, nerve, muscle, blood physiology and the physiology of the central nervous system ana physiology of respiratory and circulatory systems.

Basic medical terms and concepts. In addition, it will be given information about diseases and the system of their international classification, the basic elements that make up medical terms, roots, prefixes, suffixes and the concepts related to health and disease.

The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the science of psychology in general and to provide information about approaches in psychology, general theories and practical applications. Topics include memory, learning, stress, health psychology and social psychology.

ENGL161 Basic English - I
ENGL161 is the first semester, first year English language course offered to all students studying in a 2-year Turkish Medium Program at the university. It is designed to help students improve the level of their English to halfway towards A1 level, as specified in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. This course introduces the students to the English language and aims to develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

The course presents the basic description of information technology concepts, basic computer system hardware and software components, common terminology in information technology, application areas, and integration of computer system components. Students document on the computer using office programs, spreadsheets, and presentations that are necessary to prepare is to provide basic knowledge and skills.
