Oral and Dental Health

Oral and Dental Health Technicians are health professionals supporting dentists during the treatment of oral and dental health problems. The primary mission of the Oral and Dental Health Associate Degree Program is to cater for the demand for well-informed and experienced oral and dental health technicians who will support the dentists during the treatment phase.

General Information

The mission of the Oral and Dental Health Associate Degree program is to bring up qualified, modern and well-informed health professionals who are actively involved in protective dental applications.

Education

With the aim of graduating well-educated and successful students and maintaining the interdisciplinary dynamism, our University established academic collaboration protocols with Dokuz Eylül, Marmara and Gazi Universities. Along with the collaborations, our department receives professional support from prominent faculty members at various institutions in Turkey with the aim of effective course implementation. Our program has been designed in such a way that elements such as analysing, tackling problems, reaching conclusions, thinking creatively and critically, working in a team and communicating effectively have been integrated with the course content. A number of collaboration protocols have also been made with different institutions to provide our students with internship opportunities.

Facilities

Students of the Oral and Dental Health Program benefit from laboratories equipped with modern facilities at world standards. Our University provides sufficient number of computers with Internet connections for students. Students are also given the privilege of benefitting from the Eastern Mediterranean University Library which is equipped with modern facilities, equipment and databases. Our University also provides an array of recreational opportunities for our students in the form of social, cultural and sports activities.

Career Opportunities

Upon their graduation, students receive the title of “Oral and Dental Health Technician”. If they wish, program graduates may also continue their studies at suitable higher level programs specified by the Turkish Higher Education Board (YÖK). Oral and Dental Health technicians may pursue employment opportunities at dental laboratories, dental clinics, hospitals’ dentistry departments and companies providing dental health services.
