EMU Health Sciences Faculty Getting Ready for an Important Congress

Organised jointly by Eastern Mediterranean University, Cyprus Geriatrics Foundation, and Turkish Diabetics Foundation, 'International Cardiometabolic Syndrome Eastern Mediterranean Congress and Eastern Mediterranean Health Sciences Student Symposium' is taking place between 5 and 9 November, 2014.

During a press release about the aforesaid symposium, EMU Public Relations and Press Office Director Derviş Ekşici put forth that Faculty of Health Sciences is finalising the preparations to host an important congress. Ekşici also added that the congress is taking place under the auspices of the TRNC President Dr. Derviş Eroğlu.

Stressing the importance of the congress, EMU Health Sciences Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Harutoğlu stated that the Faculty of Health Sciences is hosting a congress with international qualities for the first time. Providing information about the cardiometabolic syndrome, Prof. Dr. Harutoğlu put forth that TRNC community is at the high-risk group.

The opening of the congress which will be hosting over 1500 participants from different regions will take place at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center at 6:00 p.m. on 5 November 2014. TRNC President Derviş Eroğlu will also be present at the congress inauguration.

Within the framework of the congress hosting over 100 speakers, 26 panels, 3 conferences, 1 public session, 31 workshops and over 100 presentations will take place. On 8 November 2014, an open session entitled "Live a Healthy Lifestyle, Age Slowly"targeted towards the public will take place between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
