EMU’s Olmypic Athlete Ese Brume Achieves to Obtain The 2nd Best Score of the Year

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) athlete who finished the Rio 2016 Olympic Games – Long Jump Competition in fifth place, Ese Brume, has once again achieved important success.  Her recent success was in Turkcell Masters Turkey Championships organized in Bursa, Turkey on the 3rd and 4th of August, 2019 where Brume achieved to score her best two jumps in double major category earning her two golden medals. Brume succeeded to get the passing grade of the World Championships. With her jump of 7.05 meters, Brume not only won the Turkey Championships but also achieved to obtain the second best score of the year. Adding more, the athlete received a golden medal with her performance of 11.41 seconds in 100 meters category competition that took place the previous day. With such achievements, Brume gained the right to compete in the World Championship which will take place in Doha, Qatar between the 27th of September and 6th of October, 2019.

“Soon to be the Champion of Olympics and World Championship”

At the age of 23, Ese Brume is already acknowledged for golden medals for both 2019 Doha World Championship and 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Brume practices for the competitions with EMU Sports Affairs Directorate trainers Hasan Maydon and Yaya Kayode. During his interview regarding Brume, trainer Hasan Maydon made the following statement: “Ese Brume was a 3-year project. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam and EMU Sports Affairs Director Cemal Konnolu played a vital role on bringing such an important athlete to Cyprus. Our goal is to have an EMU student, Brume, the champion of 2020 Tokyo Olympics. We express our sincere gratitude to EMU Rector’s Office for their continuous support on both financial and spiritual aspects. I have no doubt that our student, Ese Brume will receive the titles of World Champion and 2020 Olympics Champion in Qatar and Tokyo, respectively. Her continuous development and devotion as well as her achievements with being among the bests around the worlds is simply an indicator of her future success”. Apart from her achievements in sports, EMU’s Olympic athlete Ese Brume continues to her academic studies as a successful student in EMU Faculty of Tourism.
