EMU Organises an Academic Title Presentation Ceremony

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) organised a certificate presentation ceremony for academic staff whose new academic titles have been approved and appointment to the relevant staff categories have taken place during the years 2020 and 2021. Present at the ceremony were President of EMU Board of Trustees Dr. Erdal Özcenk, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, Member of the Board of Trustees Ersun Kutup, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Hasan Demirel, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Aktuğlu, Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu, Senate members, academic staff and their family members.

“EMU will Always Continue to Develop”

Delivering the opening address of the ceremony, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hocanın extended his congratulations to all academicians who received their new titles. Pointing out that the documents to be presented are a symbol of the development of the academic staff, Prof. Dr. Hocanın pointed out that while EMU maintains its reputation in the field of education by providing quality education, the University also undertakes important tasks in research and community services. Emphasizing that EMU is ranked at the forefront in the number of citations and academic publications by objective international evaluation organisations such as Times Higher Education, US News and QS Stars, Prof. Dr. Hocanın underlined that this success is not a concidence as the university ranks first in the TRNC and second in Turkey in the aforesaid categories. Prof. Dr. Hocanın stated that EMU will always continue to develop.

At the said ceremony, President of the Board of Trustees Dr. Erdal Özcenk, Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, Member of the Board of Trustees Ersun Kutup and Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Hasan Demirel presented 30 academicians the title of Assistant Professor, 32 members of academic staff the title of Associate Professor and 27 academicians the title of Professor.
